The Australian Forest Products Association (AFPA) held a meeting in September 2019 and discussed an agreed way forward for the LHC following the consultation process between August and September 2019. Discussion included:
All submissions were considered (20 Submissions) and a response for each individual submission
Submissions included over 300 comments/suggested changes and the key issues from submissions were summarised.
Following the consideration at the meeting it was agreed that a smaller representative group would meet to work through to a final draft.
A smaller grouup of AFPA Grower Chamber representatives met in November 2019 to discuss these remaining key issues and reach a decision on how to approach each of these in a final draft of the LHC
An agreement was reached at this meeting as follows:
Resolution of key issues and agreement on the approach for these to be reflected in the final LHC
Additional analysis and inclusion of log friction results for 0.6 friction coefficient
An update was provided to AFPA members on 28 & 29 November. The AFPA members agreed the LHC should be finalised and circulated to members reflecting agreed changes and to circulate a final draft for consideration at an out of session meeting for approval.
AFPA Approved LHC
AFPA Growers Chamber members held an out of session meeting on 18 December 2019 and resolved the following:
Growers Chamber Members agreed to approve the Forestry Log Haulage Registered Code of Practice, December 2019 with the proposed amendments by Rob Hescock to page 68 and page 92.
(Note Minor Amendments included: page 68 were the minimum length needs to be better qualified, maybe average should be used for the 300 millimeter over bark section and an amendment to page 92 where the scenarios need to have a reference to the low friction, words that are there are not quite accurate).
