Industry taking the lead
In partnership with AFCA, ForestFit is being jointly developed by industry and the NSW Government.
AFCA
AFCA is the project lead responsible for delivering ForestFit. AFCA is a member organisation whose primary purpose is to advocate on behalf of members to improve business outcomes and conditions for Forest Contractors. AFCA currently holds positions on a number of federal and state government committees and councils as well as industry bodies. AFCA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Industry Reference Group
The IRG provides industry advice and expertise in the development and design of ForestFit to ensure it meets the needs of industry.
The advice and recommendations provided by the IRG will be communicated to the Project Board and AFCA Board to be considered when developing the training and certification frameworks.
The IRG members represent a cross section of industry, including:
- Forest management organisations or landowners
- Multi-sized Contractors operating across land tenures and regions
- Associations or not for profits.
Project Board
Operating in an advisory capacity, the Project Board provides oversight of the design and delivery of ForestFit. Membership includes:
- Department of Primary Industries (Chair)
- Environment Protection Authority
- Local Land Services
- Training Services NSW
- AFCA (Project Lead)
- Forest Corp NSW.
