Mill and Nursery Tour
Visit the AKD Softwoods (Yarram) mill who produce outdoor garden products and Alberton Timber and Treatment Plant who provide treated and structural timbers. The day will conclude with a visit to the Gelliondale Nursery (HVP Plantations).
Mill, Fabricating and In-Forest Tour
This field trip combines it all, starting with touring ASH, the Heyfield timber mill supplying Australian sustainable hardwoods and a visit to the local timber workers memorial. You'll continue on to Kennedy Trailers to see some of their custom trailer solutions, then finish the day at flat pine and bluegum coupes.
In-Forest Tour: Flat Country
You will see it all during this flat country field trip, from thinnings to pine and bluegum clearfall.
Hardwood Plantations, Mill and Small Scale Harvesting
Supported by the Gippsland Agroforestry Network, this field trip examines the practicality of creating a farmer grown hardwood saw log resource in the beautiful Strzelecki Ranges. It includes a visit to the Radial Timber sawmill in Yarram, lunch at Gurney's Cidery in Foster and various demonstrations of small-scale harvesting operations including a visit to a Heartwood Plantations site.

Fabricating and In-Forest Tour
You will visit DJM Fabrications' modern workshop with state of the art equipment, they specialise in forestry equipment, tools and forestry services. The field trip also includes a visit to a clearfall site.
In-Forest Tour: Native Harvesting
Your opportunity to visit regenerated ash and mixed species harvesting coupes.
In-Forest Tour: Steep Country
You will see it all on this steep country field trip from thinnings, to clearfall to an ash plantation.
While extreme weather conditions are unusual in April, we plan for all eventualities. All in-forest tours are weather permitting in the case of extreme rain or heat as access to in-forest areas may be restricted, we will keep you advised.
All field trip participants must be 16 years or older.
Field trips include all transportation and a boxed lunch.
Remember to wear appropriate closed toed footwear.
