Outstanding Contributions to the development of the Timber Industry
The induction of thirty four inaugural members into our "Contractors Hall of Fame” and the awarding of “Industry Icon” status to eight pioneers who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the timber industry has been the highlight for the year 2010
Industry Icon awards were presented to,
Alan Greensill South Grafton NSW
Andy Padgett (AM) Launceston Tasmania
Lloyd Cocks Eden NSW
and to the families of the late,
Mayne Coverley Bunbury W.A
Lawrence Victor Dohnt Mt Gambier South Australia
E J (Mick) McCulloch Triabunna Tasmania
Brian Muskett New Norfolk Tasmania
Geoff Groves Tumut NSW
who were all recognised posthumously.
The judging panel considered that each of these eight gentlemen had made outstanding contributions to the industry over long periods of time and their histories that were read out by host Garry Leeson on the night
certainly indicated this to be the case. There were some wonderful and often emotional moments during the evening where the awardees and especially the families of posthumous recipients, indicated that they were truly humbled and very proud to receive the recognition accorded to them.
AFCA is also proud to acknowledge the following Contractors who were awarded membership of the “Hall of Fame” in recognition of their contribution to the industry.
